life
You can't have them compete on physical strength or speed or endurance. So... Compete for a woman. Compare romantic chops a la Elimidate, Dismissed. Even Taildaters, with the rest of the superheroes kibbitzing in the video van. Wealth and a dark sense of humor vs. farm boy cheer and muscles. Game show crossover. Guess prices, popular words, snippets from a college education, pop culture trivia. Stock market picks. Managing a portfolio faster than speeding bullet vs. an industrialist's experience. First to find Osama. Sleuthing vs. brute force. Showtime at the Apollo Amateur Night. Let's see how those two white boys can entertain. The SAT-II. Sell the most Girl Scout cookies. Win the election for Minnesota governor. FoodTV's Iron Chef. Dueling kitchens, one theme, judges choose the best meal, in 90 minutes.

Nick Denton > "Please let this be a sick joke: a eulogy for Gene Kan of Gnutella, on Yaroslav Faybishenko's site. Update: it was a sick joke, but by God. Gene's funeral was on Friday." Gene's weblog since May. [aka obituaries a la blog]

The Project Initiation Stage defines scope, schedule, resources, and risks, and gets buy-in from stakeholders to go forward. The Project Initiation Kick Off Report is your roadmap for this stage. community strategy
Macdara MacColl's Conference Impressions: Outtakes from Communities 2000 EAST: A Strategic Thinkers Forum has a few good notes from that Basex conference. I especially liked the one about communities She says it better. This was two years' ago. Lots of those community vendors died or shifted markets. I liked her healthy skepticism of blogging as described by Dan Bricklin of Trellix : "Most communication is of the mundane kind, and even if home pages are a good medium for mundane expressions of self, that doesn't make them a good strategic programming option for most companies. Trellix has created an excellent web-page authoring tool, chosen by community leaders like Tripod. But Trellix is struggling with figuring out where the future of their business lies. ISPs? Enterprises? KM? Trellix has a longer road to go than most companies to transform its offering into something obviously valuable to businesses." I wonder if Macdara has picked up a copy of the Cluetrain Manifesto or Gonzo Marketing since then?
