project management
Here's the student guide to Columbia University's Q7503 Principles of Project Management, Fall 2002. A great collection of resources for getting to know the breadth of PM. Also a nice section on Getting a PM Job. [a klog apart project management]

In The Human Touch, Soundbitten points out: Not Yet, Absolutely, Maybe. Noogle's sources have quality content. The content brings citations, lots of updates. This feeds Noogle's clustering and newsrank. Noogle drives traffic back to the "best" but the stories had to be there first. The big news portals come with television, newspaper, movie, music, and radio empires. Their hiqh quality, high touch, tight coupling with other media, and strong branding confer immunity. For now. Google News is crawling only 4000 news sources. No reason not to crawl 4 million. With scale comes the ability to narrowcast. And the ability to craft niche business services. Polyvinyl-chloride-piping news. Who's-hiring-in-Winetka news. But you can't aggregate unless you have sources. So stake out your niche now, learn to cover it, and blog on. Google is waiting. p.s. I can't wait for news to turn up in Google search results. p.p.s. I really like Soundbitten's critical thinking. Discovered via Arts & Farces internet. [a klog apart technology]
