Blue Sky Radio klogs strategy technology
John Udell reviews InfoPath, Microsoft's Radio-killer. Like Radio, Microsoft InfoPath's a software client. It lets you read and write microcontent. It can talk to systems over the Internet, getting and passing data. Unlike Radio, it morphs into the XML schema of your choice. It will open just about any semi-structured data. Movie reviews, SAP invoices, patient charts, project plans, résumés, and thousands more. So if you blog a movie review, your review can include a 4-star rating. That gets you blog posts filtered, grouped, and sorted by attributes. In combination with the XML-centered Office 11, IE 7, an aggregator and syndicator, and a CMS/database, InfoPath becomes an incredibly powerful architecture, much like Radio. Click for a design view screenshot. That gets you blogs integrated with the rest of your enterprise application services. So, coming soon, ... Blogging ain't just for blog posts anymore.
