This assumes the RSS feed is an envelope for a more structured description. In this case, an earthquake with lattitude and longitude marked up. Selectively alert me. For example, earthquakes near a city or state where my family lives. And if you can do it for quakes, why not for your supply chain? You daily calendar? For whatever?
