In many cases, publishing a category or the entire site is not immediate.

Make the publlishing queue visible:

• List items to be published in the order they will be published.
   
• Permit "hold", "cancel", "move up the list" and "move down the list" commands to operate on items in the queue. You may choose to defer posting a large gem to get your html up right now.
   
• If adventurous, look at the event log for how long other items took to publish, and guess the time remaining.
