POLAND: Sociologist Marysia Cywiñska-Milonas cited Gierszewski's study of Polish the blogosphere:

  • 100,000 polish blogs
  • 62% of blogs are written by women
  • 75% are 20 years old or younger
  • 90% blog from home
  • most blogging is anonymous, and personal/social content prevails

12,000 Iranian blogs.

IRAN: Hossein Derakhshan is presenting Weblogs, an Iranian Perspective at Blogtalk. Highlights:

  • Lack of blogrolls (for social reasons as much as technical)
  • 12,000 Persian weblogs
  • 76% male
  • 2-3 million Iranians in diaspora, blogging plays a role connecting with each other and with the people living in-country
